FAQ

Will my tenant reference be available to the public?

No, It will only be accessible to landlords who can provide the tenant’s date of birth.

Can I get sued by a tenant for submitting a landlord reference that they don’t approve of?

In short, no. The references on Renter are verified to be Fair-Housing compliant, and fact based. As long as the references can be proven to be true, the landlords are legally permitted to submit the reference about the previous tenants without fear of being sued. Renter Inc cannot offer legal advice, however, you can read more about what a lawyer contributes to this specific topic. http://www.sfaa.org/oct2008/0810legalqa.htm
